Initiative promoted by Instituto Embratel Claro

will award student-created applications

Instituto Embratel Claro, in partnership with the Association of the Technological Integrated Systems Laboratory (LSI - TEC) and with the support of the Integrated Systems Laboratory of the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (LSI-USP), announces the opening of registration for the 4th Edition of Campus Mobile. Registration is free and can be done until November 15, through the link www.institutoclaro.org.br/campusmobile.

The initiative aims to identify, encourage and contribute to the training of young talents who wish to work in the development of innovative solutions for mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones. Projects must be developed promoting social benefits, aimed at the development of education, citizenship, health and the environment.

Campus Mobile is aimed at university students and technical education students from all over Brazil, with at least 18 years of age. Projects can be proposed individually or in groups of up to three people in one of two categories: Education and Facilities.

Proposals applying for the Education category must focus on creating innovative products or services for mobile devices that promote and enhance learning inside and outside the classroom, the school context or interest in studies. Projects aimed at the Facilities category, on the other hand, should make the user's life more practical, fun and safe, such as mobile applications, in addition to encouraging healthy habits or those that contribute to the exercise of civil rights.

The 80 selected works will receive guidance to be developed through a virtual learning environment. After this stage, there will also be a week of face-to-face meetings at USP, with various activities, such as Hackathons, lectures and technical visits. In addition to allowing interaction between students, professionals and companies that work in the development of applications, there will be, during this period, support for the completion of prototypes and workshops on programming, technology and entrepreneurship.

The top three projects in each category will receive an initial prize of R$ 1,800. Based on this selection, the event committee will establish new goals for the chosen works. Those who achieve all goals will be awarded R$ 6,000 and will win an immersion trip to Silicon Valley, California, United States, scheduled to take place in June 2016.
