O Mapping 4.0 has already registered 53 existing initiatives in the country related to advanced manufacturing. The information is from the Secretary of Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC), Paulo Alvim, who participated, this Tuesday (20), in Brasília, in the 2nd meeting of the Working Groups (WGs) of the Brazilian Chamber of Industry 4.0. ABES was present at the meeting, in which it was represented by Jamile Sabatini Marques, Director of Innovation and Development; Werter Padilha, IoT Committee Coordinator; and Andriei Gutierrez, Coordinator of the Tax Committee.

The expectation, according to the secretary, is that at the next meeting of the Superior Council of the collegiate, the Working Groups will present an action plan for industry 4.0 and more detailed data on the projects registered in the mapping. “We are chasing losses. The car is on the street and the line is moving. Industry 4.0 is already happening. It is essential that we enter into a growing, scalability model of this process”, highlighted Paulo Alvim.

About the Chamber of Industry 4.0

The Brazilian Chamber of Industry 4.0, launched in April this year, is a joint initiative of the MCTIC and the Ministry of Economy (ME). The chamber is formed by more than 30 entities representing the government, companies and academics and will integrate initiatives in force or that may be developed in the country.

The Chamber has four working groups, focused on presenting solutions in the following areas: Technological Development and Innovation; Human capital; Production Chains and Supplier Development; Regulation, Technical Standardization and Infrastructure. “It is very significant work. This convergence of initiatives and the contribution of the private sector have been fundamental in this process”, highlighted Paulo Alvim.

The executive secretary of MCTIC, Julio Semeghini, highlighted that the ministry already works in three other chambers: Agro 4.0, released in August; Health 4.0 and Smart Cities. “This Chamber of Industry 4.0 has been an example. It is a very important work in the integration of ministries, which are acting in line with academia and industry.”

The concept of Industry 4.0, also known as advanced manufacturing or the fourth industrial revolution, encompasses innovations in the field of automation and uses technologies such as the Internet of Things and cloud computing.

Mapping 4.0, prepared by Sempi/MCTIC in partnership with Senai Nacional, seeks to learn about all courses, training, events, financial and managerial support programs, in addition to other actions related to the topic.

Currently, representatives of the Chamber of Brazilian Industry 4.0 are introducing new initiatives and disseminating the mapping to their partners. Access the website at: www.mapeamento40.com.br.
