Targeting young people between the ages of 16 and 25 looking for an opportunity in the job market, as well as those who still don't know which career to pursue, Brasil Mais TI's proposal is to awaken the vocation and encourage the entry of new professionals. in a sector undergoing rapid growth and considered strategic for Brazil.

“We have 43,000 registered students and we have already taken more than 128,000 courses. Our goal until next December is to train 10 thousand people and give more than 100 thousand courses”, explains Ana Beatriz Pires, project manager at Softex.

One of the main bottlenecks in the software and IT services industry is the growing shortage of qualified professionals, which could reach the worrying mark of 408,000 in 2020. The data are part of the Thematic Notebook “Job Market and Training of Manpower in IT ”, published at the end of last year by the Softex Observatory, the entity's intelligence, studies and research unit.

“There is a strong demand for IT professionals and one of the main objectives of this project is precisely to attract the interest of young people for training in one of the many options available in technological careers, which also offer very attractive salaries”, adds Pedro Gontijo Menezes, manager of the project by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI).

Developed by the MCTI and the Ministry of Education (MEC), Brasil Mais TI is accessed in more than 90 countries and operates in three essential aspects of professional training: knowledge, training and opportunities.

In June of this year, the program gained a new, more interactive, robust and dynamic platform, allowing greater integration with social networks. She also makes use of gamification, which combines the experience of electronic games with pedagogy. Another novelty of Brasil Mais TI is the Personal and Professional Profile Test, a game that allows young people to assess their interest and knowledge of the IT market.
