Companies are increasingly investing in research, development and technological innovation in order to become more competitive and innovative in the local and global market. The result can be seen in the 2014 Global Innovation Ranking, in which Brazil is in 61st, rising 3 positions compared to 2013.

To support this growth process, the Brazilian government created Law No. 11,196 of November 21, 2005, known as the “Lei do Bem”, which provides tax incentives for companies that develop technological innovations in the national territory.

Many innovative companies are unaware of the opportunities provided by the Lei do Bem to optimize investments in innovation, that is, development of a new product or process or substantial improvements.

The e-book “Guide to tax incentives for technological innovation” prepared by Inventta+bgi, a specialist in the strategic management of financial resources and technological innovation, aims to present the Lei do Bem to companies that innovate and want to enhance their efforts. In the e-book companies will find:

– the tax incentives available,
– the relevant business activities,
– the expenditures benefited,
– and the general conditions for applying the incentives.
