The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) will offer R$100 million to support applied research, technological development and innovation projects carried out by Science and Technology Institutions carried out in partnership with companies. Requests for support can be submitted until April 29, July 29 and November 28 of that year. 

 

The objective is to support applied research, technological development and innovation projects carried out by a technological institution. Technological institutions, support institutions and companies participating in the project may receive resources, which, in this case, regardless of their size, must appear as an actor in the financial collaboration agreement and must financially contribute at least 10% of the total value of the financeable items .
 
Among the financeable items are expenses related to R,D&I projects, involving: acquisition of new research equipment; investments in civil works; physical facilities and infrastructure; acquisition of consumable and permanent material; expenses with staff compensation, training, technological qualification and travel; expenses with hiring technical and specialized services and external consultancy; acquisition, transfer and absorption of technology; expenses, in the country and abroad, related to intellectual property; operating and administrative expenses.
 
Supportable projects
 
1. Low environmental impact motor vehicles – Development of innovative technologies and systems for low environmental impact motor vehicles.
2. Semiconductors – Development of semiconductor components, materials and processes;
3. Advanced Manufacturing and Intelligent Systems – Development of machines and equipment that incorporate microelectronics technologies, sensors, new materials, internet of things, communications network technologies.
4. Minerals - Strategic “Future Bearers” Minerals, restricted to the elements Cobalt, Graphite, Lithium, Platinum Group Metals (Platinum, Palladium, Rhodium, Ruthenium, Iridium and Osmium), Molybdenum, Niobium, Silicon (Solar Grade), Thallium, Tantalum, Rare Earths (Lanthanide Series, Scandium and Yttrium), Titanium and Vanadium.
5. Medicines with New Active Ingredients for Chronic Diseases – Conducting phase I pre-clinical and clinical trials, in a certified environment, of drugs with new active principles for Chronic Diseases (synthetic, biological or derived from biodiversity) discovered or developed in the country.
6. Technologies for the Oil and Gas sector.
7. Biomass pre-treatment – New biomass collection, preparation and pre-treatment systems for 2G ethanol production.
