Blockbit, a global cybersecurity products company, has just launched Blockbit University, its e-learning platform that will offer a series of training courses aimed at training and certifying partners, employees and customers in the company's solutions.
"Blockbit University comes to strengthen the relationship with our audiences, through the dissemination of technical and commercial knowledge about our portfolio and the cybersecurity market, from fundamental to the most advanced concepts", comments Paola Scampini, VP of Marketing, Channels and Blockbit Alliances. "In addition to speeding up the training process, the platform promotes a holistic and more analytical view of the cybersecurity area, in addition to presenting the features and innovations of our solutions", he adds.
For the launch of the online platform, Blockbit developed an advanced vulnerability management capability, based on Blockbit VCM (Vulnerability and Compliance Management). The product addresses a growing trend in the cybersecurity industry, which is the ability to anticipate and react to potential vulnerabilities, whether internal or external, that could put corporate information and data at risk. "Vulnerability management is a big trend and comes to support organizations that need agility in detecting vulnerabilities, preventing threats, protecting their assets and ensuring compliance with specific regulations", adds Scampini.
The Vulnerability Management course will have two types of training: technical and commercial. On the technical track, the course is divided into two stages, with 18 modules. In the first step, as they progress, the student will get in touch with the main fundamentals of Information Security, vulnerabilities, threats and risks, such as legal and compliance aspects.
The second part of the technical trail consists of the complete view of Blockbit VCM, exploring all its features – product architecture, installation, network environments, Assets, Scan, Dashboard, Action Plan, analytical reports and vulnerability analysis. Upon completion of the technical training, the user will be able to apply for the Blockbit Vulnerability Management Specialist certification.
The commercial track has 6 modules and was developed to meet the demands of sales teams, covering everything from sales concepts and techniques to Blockbit VCM licensing forms. As with the technical track, the specialist will be able to apply for the commercial certification, Blockbit Vulnerability Management Certified Sales.
Both tracks have student performance assessments during the modules, to reinforce the knowledge acquired and encourage participants to interact more optimally with the platform.
According to Paola Scampini, the Blockbit University project was born in response to a growing demand from the company's own customers and channels for workforce training. "We thought of the online platform in order to meet the needs of the market, which has been demanding more qualification for its technicians, in an efficient and agile way. With a managerial view of results and gamification. In addition to reducing training costs, the platform democratizes knowledge, because it makes and respects the schedule, rhythm and interests of each professional", he explains.
In addition to online courses, Blockbit University is complemented with an intensive schedule of Webinars for generating and sharing technical knowledge using the company's solutions. From January to September 2017, more than 1,000 professionals participated in this type of weekly training.
