Ativas Data Center, a company belonging to the Asamar and Cemig groups, specialized in IT infrastructure and management, is implementing a solution for managing IBM's cloud computing environment. The objective is to modernize and increase the agility of its Cloud services, in addition to creating a new portal for managing the IT environment, offering its customers a new range of services. In total, R$ 2.2 million were invested in the project.

In the market for six years and with national operations, Ativas works with a vast portfolio and offers cloud computing solutions in the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) model. The company acquired IBM Cloud Orchestrator (ICO) software, which in addition to improving cloud management for IT offerings, will integrate its management tools, such as metering, accounting and monitoring. The software works based on open standards and uses an easy-to-use interface that streamlines the management of public, private and hybrid clouds, reducing the implementation of new services from weeks to days.

“IBM's new solution will provide us with sustainable growth with greater autonomy, accuracy and availability to offer our customers services such as IT infrastructure, platform, datacenter, backup and storage. We expect to increase sales by 50% with these new offers in 2016”, says Daniel Magalhães, technology superintendent at Ativas.

With the creation of a new portal, companies will have the opportunity to monitor their environment and make new service contracts in an easy and optimized way. “The tools will enable the company to increase its number of offers and, in addition, guarantee the satisfaction of current customers who already make use of the services offered”, emphasizes José Guilherme de Souza, sales manager for Cloud Software at IBM Brazil.
