The first response of the integration between ACM and ACATE will be the creation of a technology commission to define a work agenda from the first days of 2018

Medicine and technology start to walk together from now on in Santa Catarina, for the benefit of the population's health and entrepreneurship in the state. The partnership between the Santa Catarina Medicine Association (ACM) and the Santa Catarina Technology Association (ACATE) aims to generate solutions to the challenges of public or private health management and create tools for the development of medicine. In a true synergy between the entities, the action reaffirms the pioneering position of the information technology center installed in the state capital and begins the fulfillment of the innovation goal of the new management of ACM, two months ahead of the entity.

The partnership agreement was signed last Friday (15th), by the presidents of ACM, Ademar José de Oliveira Paes Junior, and of ACATE, Daniel Leipnitz, alongside directors and associates of the entities, at the medical association's headquarters, in Florianopolis. The first response of the integration will be with the creation of the ACM Technology Commission, which will define a work agenda from the first days of 2018. A state event for the knowledge of the potential of the union of the sectors is also being planned, as well as meetings between professionals from both areas.

According to the president of ACM, the goal is to enhance technological projects that meet the population's care needs and respond to the demand of the health services market, which already represents about 10% of the Brazilian GDP. “There are several benefits of the partnership, which will certainly find important solutions for the assistance of the population. In addition, it is time for medicine to be understood as generating wealth, creating products and conducting research, among other values of paramount importance for the state and the country”.

For Walmoli Gerber Júnior, director of Vertical Health at ACATE, the partnership aims to form knowledge about health technology and structure an innovation fund in this area. "That way, doctors can collaborate as consultants, mentors and investors", he explains.

For the president of ACATE, the partnership will be a vector of development and can also work in projects for health prevention, as well as for the proper use of technology, avoiding waste and damage to the health of the population. “The integration between the associations is a milestone. Once again we can make Santa Catarina a reference and take the values that will be generated from here beyond the borders of the state”.
