The role of the internet has changed our lives radically from its inception to today. From the first email in 1971, the creation of the first website in 1983, the arrival of the first million users in the world in 1998, to the present day.

Today, it is possible to say that the internet is fundamental for professional and personal life. Without it, it is practically impossible to work and, in addition, we lose a series of facilities that we are completely used to. For example, who has never given up on staying at a particular hotel while on vacation when they realize that it doesn't have a website? Who is not happy to be able to buy the products of their favorite brand with all the comfort of their own home and with home delivery? How is a working day in any office if there is an internet connection failure?

Platforms with intelligent multi-path technology allow automatic wireless and 3G/4G hand-off for mobile device users, that is, in case of loss of wireless signal, the automatic connection to the 3G/4G network is made without any interference in the activities of the internet user.

At the same time, with the internet exceeding the limits of the PC, more and more companies are increasing their online presence in different ways: social networks, e-commerce, etc., as the participation of people in the network continues to grow. Mobility is a worldwide trend and more and more people want and need to use any devices and applications anywhere, whether for business or leisure.

This growth of online life is leading companies to a new internet revolution. Among what they will have to face are the following aspects:

• There are more websites than IP addresses available. Therefore, there is already an intention to implement IPV6, which allows for a much larger number of host addresses and should replace IPV4.

• The HTTP protocol is limited in terms of the way the internet is used today. Therefore, there are already different tests to speed up access, one of which is SPDY, which reduces the time spent to load a web page, converting incoming requests to the server as HTTP, but keeping the bandwidth consumption reduction and accelerating communication between user and server up to 64%.

These two aspects challenge companies to modernize their platforms so that they are prepared for the increased use of the network and can guarantee greater security to their customers and invest in a new data center format, if they are not prepared to support IPV6 and the new protocol.

The technological universe is always susceptible to new changes in order to modernize processes and make personal and professional life easier. Ensuring that the company follows these changes means using the best of technology in its favor and making it a fundamental item for the business strategy.
