O InovaUSP was the stage chosen for the Pitch Night ABES, a celebration of entrepreneurship, innovation and startups, held on October 10th and created by the Startups Committee, led by Cassio Spina and Eduardo Felipe Matias.
The night's activities were led by Clara Savelli, Project Coordinator at ABES, and the opening of the event was under the responsibility of Paulo Milliet Roque, president director of the association, who presented the purpose, numbers and some activities of the entity, such as the traditional Study of the Brazilian Software Market: Panorama and Trends, produced by ABES and IDC. Paulo and Eduardo formed the pitch evaluation panel, alongside Rodolfo Fücher, President of the ABES Board, Daniel Annenberg, Innovation Consultant, and Daniela Jacobina Pires, Coordinator of the ABES Think Tank.
Ore measurement
Richard Feund, CEO of associated Konker. Mining, was the first company to present itself. She's a Brazilian startup that focuses on an innovative technology based on cosmic ray telescopes for measuring iron ores, which are installed at the base of batteries. The technology meets the needs of ore production, providing real-time information about the grade and size of the pile, and can also be applied to ensure the safety of ore dams in order to reduce the risk of environmental disasters.
Electric power consumption
Afterwards, Rodrigo Lagreca presented the startup to Energy of Things, which aims to take advantage of market opportunities: the advancement of the global ESG agenda, the need to reduce inefficiencies in electricity consumption and the deregulation of the electricity sector. By analyzing energy consumption data, users of the systems provided by the startup can reduce consumption, enable better business decisions, avoid fines and, in the medium term, advance decarbonization projects.
Fish farm
THE HERE9 focuses on the aquaculture sector, being an agtech that develops process control and management solutions for fish producing farms. Maicon Brande, one of its founders, explained that AQUI9 offers customers two integrated solutions: an IoT system (sensors for capturing data in the field) and a Digital Platform (SaaS) to enable the management and analysis of data that will help in taking of decisions.
Urban Development
Roberta Berardo, partner and senior developer at Place – Technology for Urban Development, a startup that is part of the Ospa Group and aims to meet the needs of those who want to build and invest in cities: the lack of clarity in urban data and the fragmentation of information on different bases. Place is a platform that crosses data from legislation, the master plan, the real estate market and architecture. It mainly serves two client profiles: developers and other players in the architecture and construction market; and the government, to provide urban mapping services.
Find your IT provider
The fifth startup to present at Pitch Night ABES was Match , platform that connects ideal IT service providers for each corporate project client, through an AI solution, which makes it possible to connect those who need to hire IT with the best suppliers. Already on the market, the startup added a new service to its portfolio based on learnings, explained its founder Rose Ramos. Transform IT to help the potential contractor define and refine their technological project, before starting the contract itself.
Does perfect pitch exist?
In addition, Pitch Night ABES had a round table with big names from the Brazilian entrepreneurial scene, covering pitch tips and tips for the growth of startups: Paulo Mariotto, CFO of Incentiv, a BR Angels investee in the ESG segment, co-founder of CMP Solutions, of Ambra Group; Cassio Spina, founder of Anjos do Brasil, investor and leader of the ABES Startups Committee; and Eduardo Felipe Matias, lawyer, partner at Elias, Matias Advogados and columnist for Época Negócios magazine.
The event was supported by BR Angels, an association made up of more than 250 CEOs and entrepreneurs from important companies that, in addition to financial capital, deliver intellectual capital, valuing, above all, the concept of Smart Money. The organization is a partner of the ABES STARTUP INTERNSHIP PROGRAM.
