With 10 years of history, technology company plans growth through new acquisitions and international expansion

THE Skyone, a leader in providing technological products to simplify routine and enhance business productivity through a single platform, has designed a successful trajectory that has taken it from startup to scale-up in less than a decade. Led by Ricardo Brandão, a visionary with more than 15 years of experience in the IT market, the company has presented a constant average growth of 50% in revenue per year since its foundation in 2013.

From the first angel investment of R$ 1.5 million in 2017, Skyone has attracted the attention of strategic investors and investment funds. In 2018, Invest Tech contributed a Series A contribution of R$ 22.5 million, while InovaBRA, in 2021, led Series B with R$ 45 million. Now, in February 2024, the company received the most recent investment, of R$ 60 million, from Venture Capital Bewater.

“We started our operations in two states, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and with a single product. With the investments received, we were able to find our market fit, conquering our space in the market and demonstrating our robustness. Currently, we have expanded our presence to all Brazilian states and also to more than 20 countries around the world”, says CEO Ricardo Brandão. “In addition to geographic growth, we expanded our offer, increasing to 15 products offered within a single platform. This includes several categories, such as cloud computing, data, cybersecurity, marketplace and even a professional services structure to accelerate the customer journey in using the platform”, he explains.

To meet growing demand, the company is also expanding its team, which already has more than 400 professionals, planning to open 150 new positions by the end of the year. In this way, the company hopes to strengthen current structures and, mainly, bring talents from the data areas, reflecting the company's commitment for the coming years.

With plans to expand not only organically, but also through mergers and acquisitions, the company hired, in 2023, director Bruno Salari to structure the company's M&A and Investor Relations area. “In less than a year we have already managed to create a robust database and complete strategic operations, establishing a solid foundation for our aggressive investment plans. With the new investment, we are prepared for opportunities in the software and data infrastructure sectors, seeking immediate synergies”, highlights the executive.

An important part of Skyone's expansion plan is to ensure business efficiency for healthy and sustainable growth. Therefore, since the arrival of Rodrigo Tremante, a partner who took on the role of CFO in 2022, the company has thoroughly reviewed several processes and operations, optimizing internal expenses and generating savings of more than R$ 7 million in expenses in 2023 alone. “Let's go continue to grow in a structured way, triangulating with profitability and cash generation. Our inorganic operations will complement our business plan and bring great added value to the company”, comments Tremante.

For the future, Ricardo Brandão wants to go further. “We have a clear business vision and we are prepared to be the company that will help thousands of people boost their technological productivity. As we evolve, we implement solid, agile and scalable processes. Now, we wish to further strengthen our presence, both in the Brazilian market and on the global stage, in addition to exploring new possibilities in the data area”, concludes the CEO.
