Data Center Installed in Europe Avoids US Surveillance Laws

RPost, a company associated with ABES and which holds the Registered E-mail technology patent, has just introduced a new version of its RMail application to the market, which includes aspects of security, authentication and auditing of e-mail messages.

Once installed on a fixed or mobile device, RMail works in harmony with Microsoft Outlook, Office 365 or Gmail, providing these programs with a level of security compatible with that of military electronic mail systems.

With the use of RMail, all messages sent use a cryptographic algorithm and have a registration and route mapping system that allows identifying all the message passage points along the global network, including data such as UTC time. and identification of origin and destination.

RMail also records message viewing in detail and deposits a certified copy of the content in a secure area of your cloud storage system. Thus, if the sender needs it, he can request the download of an image of this copy (using a strong password) for the purpose of documentary evidence with forensic validity.

Another new feature of RMail is the protection anti-whaling. Through this functionality, the RPost solution is able to identify and isolate messages with characteristics compatible with this new form of cyber attack. Recent novelty in the hacker world, the attacks whaling use profile cloning to extract business information through emails sent to influential people in the business hierarchy.

RMail message encryption can be triggered on demand or automatically, at the user's discretion. To facilitate the opening of the message at the destination, the solution uses a patented encryption technology, True Direct Delivery - TDD, a system that does not require the recipient to go to a specific website to decrypt the message.

The Secure Large File Sharing feature – another Rmail innovation, allows you to securely share and send large files up to 10GB without leaving the email compose window in Microsoft Outlook.

European data center

RPost is also working on its technology infrastructure. In response to customer users' growing apprehension about US government surveillance, often seen as excessive, RPost launched its first new-generation European datacenter, which is used to process RMail messages and to encrypt the content of sensitive messages.

Any RMail customer can request migration to the new European datacenter, which is completely isolated from other RPost datacenters. In this new datacenter – as was the case with the datacenter based in Canada, previously – there is a guarantee that the message – if it does not have recipients in the USA – will be routed exclusively through datacenters that are not located in the USA.

In addition to these technology and infrastructure improvements, the RMail user interface and message templates have also been updated according to the latest user experience (UX) research. Customer comments and requests are reflected in the new website and RMail.com products.

RMail is always free for individual or limited-volume use of RMail applications that run inside Gmail and all versions of Microsoft Outlook, including Outlook.com. Click to watch the video and take a tour of the RMail product.

RPost is the creator of the patented Registered Email technology, which provides email senders with legal proof of delivery, delivery time and exact message content in the form of a Registered Receipt email record.
