The expertise of the two institutions will strengthen the internationalization of business and the attraction of foreign investment to the country

The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and Serpro signed, today, 4/2, a Technical Cooperation Agreement valid for the next twelve months. The Agreement aims to structure the partnership between the two entities for the development of new digital solutions for the internationalization of companies and attracting foreign investment to Brazil.

The ACT provides for the creation of Work Plans for each of the digital businesses to be developed through the partnership. The business plans for each of the solutions will be documented and will govern the contractual relationship between the parties. The first solution to be implemented through the Agreement will be a platform aimed at interacting with foreign investors.

A prototype of the matchmaking app was presented at the event. The solution will make it easier for foreign investors and buyers to find Brazilian entrepreneurs with promising ideas, encouraging fundraising.

market knowledge

“The signing of this ACT integrates one of the fronts of Apex-Brasil's digital transformation and innovation strategy. This is the first time that the Agency is looking for alternative solutions to fulfill its institutional mission, which is to promote exports and attract foreign direct investment to the country”, explained the president of Apex-Brasil, Sergio Segovia. “Partnering with Serpro will allow us to improve our work through new ways of collecting data, artificial intelligence, virtual robots and other cutting-edge technological solutions. The expectation is to join efforts in a partnership that reflects market knowledge and best digital practices. This is a win-win strategic deal. On the one hand, Apex-Brasil now relies on Serpro's technological expertise, which, on the other hand, will have the opportunity to work on the internationalization of its brand and its services, supported by a road of more than 50 years of activities", he added.

"Serpro deserves to internationalize and export its systems and products for the consolidation of digital transformation. This is the vision we want to implement: to export digital intelligence, as we have a lot to take abroad. This ACT is a milestone in the company's history . An initiative that is good for Serpro, as a company, and for the State. And the first solution of this partnership: the Tinder of buyers, investors and entrepreneurs, already shows the entrepreneurial spirit of this partnership", highlighted the president of Serpro, Caio Mario Paes de Andrade.

The Agreement is supported by the State-Owned Companies Law (Law No. 13,303/2016), which enables the joint exploration of an activity with the sharing of risks and results by the State and the private sector.

The ACT includes carrying out research, development and innovation activities, with technology transfer and sharing of intellectual capital, specialized labor, qualification and training, in addition to product and process innovation methodologies.

consideration

Signing the ACT is advantageous for both institutions: while Apex-Brasil will gain more modern technological solutions, Serpro will have its brand publicized to foreign investors and international buyers, which is relevant for the organization's internationalization process. In addition, the agreement will make it possible to monetize through the provision of digital services, which should contribute to the economic and financial balance of the two institutions.
