In the search for modernizing its technology solutions and optimizing its activities, the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) hired, through a public tender, the technology provider and Microsoft partner in Brazil, Brasoftware, to implement Office 365 and your solutions such as Sharepoint, Exchange and Teams.

According to Cléoben Gomes Lopes, responsible for Anatel's Computational Environment Administration Coordination (GIMR1) and supervisor of the contract generated after the bidding, the public agency sought this update due to the need to modernize the electronic mail, instant communication services and collaborative document editing.
“Anatel sought this upgrade because we needed a more advanced and more intuitive platform that could meet our users' demand for a collaboration solution that could be accessed from anywhere in order to optimize the execution of corporate activities. We were very pleased to carry out the project together with them because of the speed and professionalism presented”, said Lopes, who also highlighted that, with the implementation, new tools available in the latest versions of Office began to be adopted, meeting other demands and also improving the collaborative work model and better communication between the more than 1700 users.

Among the main advantages of the new technology, George Lacerda, Services Executive at Brasoftware, highlighted the issue of platform security. “All Anatel solutions were migrated from their local servers and are being used today within a cloud. In this environment, the solutions will always be in their latest version, without the need for Anatel to carry out contracts to maintain the platform and without worrying about security, since the Microsoft environment follows international standards of certificates and security, including rules that will be charged within the LGPD (general data protection law)”, he commented. Another highlight was the use of tools such as Teams and Sharepoint, which allow for greater savings in time and money, since travel expenses can be reduced with the use of web conferences or instant messaging, compared to meetings, commuting and travel that were sometimes necessary.

The project implementation was carried out quickly and efficiently by the Brasoftware team, which carried out the solution migration process gradually so that all users would gradually get used to it. In all, the process took around 40 days to complete and reached almost 1700 employees. “The entire procedure was very quick and the application allowed Anatel employees the option of using their devices remotely when needed, transforming any cell phone or computer into an “arm of work”, adds Lacerda.
