The immersion takes place between the 18th and 23rd and will feature a team of experienced instructors, including Paulo Silveira, CEO of edtech and a reference in the programming language

According to TIOBE index Programming Community, which measures the popularity of programming languages, Java is popularly the most used language in the world by software developers. With the objective of disseminating the teaching of technology in the country, the alura, business unit of Alura Group – largest technology learning community in Brazil – is opening applications for its first Java Immersion. There will be five free classes, between July 18th and 23rd, for beginners to learn how to build their first Java project from scratch, add them to their portfolio and upgrade their careers. The expectation is to attract about 30 thousand subscribers.

This is the first back-end immersion on the topic promoted by Alura, but this year edtech also promoted its first Dev Immersion, Besides the Data Immersion. In all, more than 500,000 people were impacted by Alura's immersions, which started the project at the beginning of the pandemic.

To promote a complete education in this edition, registered people will have knowledge on how to start their career in Java, including learnings such as: building an application from scratch, understanding how to improve the code to make it more flexible and easier, using NoSQL databases , make an application accessible to any professional and finalize a complete project to use it in a professional portfolio.

A reference in Java language in the technology community, Paulo Silveira, CEO of Grupo Alura, will be one of the instructors of the immersion and reinforces the importance of introducing people with little or no knowledge of this programming language into the job market.

“Initiatives like this give an in-depth perspective on the area and how a Java programmer really works in their daily lives. In a scenario of low employability, this may be the opportunity for several people to take their first professional step in the technology area. In addition, this immersion is special, after all, Alura was born from a Java users forum (GUJ) and, later, the theme became a series of handouts, used until today. This programming language begins the company's history, when it was still called Caelum, but it remains a reference today,” says Silveira.

In addition to Paulo Silveira, Bachelor in Computer Science and Master from USP in Computational Geometry.; The Immersion Java grid has an experienced team of professionals, such as Jacqueline Oliveira, Software Engineer graduated in Computer Science and post-graduated in Software Architecture and Engineering; and Alexandre Aquiles, software developer since 2005 and programming teacher since 2013.

Registration for the Java Immersion is now open and interested parties can register for free, just access the link and include information such as full name and email.
