Cybersecurity, ICT World Ranking, Ways to Connect the World, Public-Private Partnerships, the Future of ICT and many other topics will be addressed at WCIT Brasil 2016. A little over a year before the event, WITSA and the Committee Local organizers have already started to define the guidelines that will result in the “Carta Brasília”, with proposals for the development of the sector at a global level next year. The event has the institutional support of ABES.

In addition to areas related to technical ICT concepts, the Congress will also address innovations related to quality of life, such as health, wearable technology, education and digital government. Six international personalities have already confirmed their presence as speakers at WCIT Brazil 2016: Alexandre Mora, Minister of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica; Manu Bhardwaj, Coordinator of International Communications and Information Policy at the US Department of State; Oren Gershtein, CEO of IdealityRoads; Randeep Sudan, Manager of Information and Communication Technology at the World Bank, based in Washington;  Ivo Ivanovski, Minister of Information Society and Administration in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia; and Dr. Soumitra Dutta, Dean of the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University/USA.
The lectures will be connected with the development of the main theme of the event “Promises of the Digital Age: Challenges and Opportunities”, in which academics, researchers, CEOs, company directors, government authorities, media, presidents of entities, representatives of the United Nations, World Economic Forum, World Health Organization, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and others.
"Representing 90% of the world's ICT, WITSA's objective is to contribute to the world being connected, to provide access to people from the most distant areas so that they have equal opportunities to those who are in the great centers. This access must be treated as a birthright , therefore, must be on the digital agenda of all nations”, explains WITSA Secretary General James Poisant.
