Health Angels is a startup accelerator that reaches the market with a differentiated proposal. Specialist in technology for the basic health sector, Health Angels proposes an unprecedented model of participation, in addition to offering entrepreneurs direct access to this rapidly growing market in the country, which is a priority announced by the Ministry of Health. The registration site is http://www.healthangels.com.br  and the deadline is 1/31/2018.

"Startups have great ideas, but little access to the market for several reasons", observes Antonio Francisco Nascimento, director of Health Angels. Among these reasons, he cites insufficient financial strength to withstand a long sales cycle, the absence of a brand that facilitates contact with potential customers and low knowledge of the market it intends to reach.

For him, the support of an accelerator or an angel investor, in general, solves the issue of lack of resources and helps to address other needs, such as the assembly of a qualified team that facilitates access to the market. But this support may not be enough to guarantee the survival of the startup or its partners.

Health Angels took this scenario into account to create a business model in the partnership established with startups. Instead of receiving equity, that is, a part of the company in credits or bonds that can be converted into shares in the future, Health Angels creates a joint venture with the startup in order to develop the company that emerges. This means that the entrepreneur does not give up his participation in the startup he founded. “The entrepreneur offers his idea without giving up his startup. In the joint venture, the partnership with Health Angels guarantees access to the potential Brazilian health market”, says Nascimento.

According to a study by Fundação Dom Cabral, one out of every four startups does not survive in Brazil in its first year of life. There are many reasons that lead to the discontinuation of the operation, but one factor that positively interferes is the fact that the startup works in an incubator or accelerator, and not in the office itself, since the entrepreneurs take advantage of the knowledge shared there.

In addition to guaranteeing entry into the health sector, Health Angels ensures the product's suitability for the target market formed by organizations in the primary health care segment. “In the future, our proposal is to work all over Brazil and other countries with a similar health care structure”, completes the accelerator's director.

Health Angels is a joint venture between DotCom, a company with more than 20 years in the IT solutions market for large organizations in the health sector, and PR Sistemas, which for more than 30 years has been dedicated to the development of management for the health sector. Among the success stories of Health Angels partners in the health sector, the supply of management, monitoring and IT systems for Social Organizations such as CEJAM, Santa Marcelina, SPDM, Cruzada Bandeirante, São Camilo and IABAS stands out.
