Businesspeople from Santa Catarina will be able to visit one of the most relevant research and innovation centers in the United States at Verticalmoço this Tuesday (18), promoted by the Santa Catarina Association of Technology Companies (ACATE). The meeting will be held at the Hotel Maria do Mar, from 12pm to 2pm, with the participation of Curtis R. Carlson, president and CEO of the International Stanford Research Institute (SRI). The US institute is responsible for implementing high definition television (HDTV), a standard in the US since 1997, under Carlson's guidance.
 
Verticalmoço is a monthly event promoted by ACATE, through its Business Verticals, to foster networking between companies in the technology sector and discuss topics in vogue in the market. About Curtis R. Carlson
SRI's President and CEO is one of the 26-member National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship and an advisor to President Barack Obama on the development of innovation and market strategies. In addition to leading the project that implemented HDTV in the US in 1997, he led the team that developed a system to optimize the quality of images in satellite broadcasts, in 2000, an Emmy-winning work. In 2006 he released a book co-authored with William Wilmot: Five Disciplines for Creating What Customers Want.
