On April 13th, in Florianópolis (SC), the launch of the Women's ACATE group, of the Catarinense Technology Association (ACATE), which featured an international speaker: Ingrid Vanderveldt, founder and CEO of Empower a Billion Women by 2020, the first resource sharing and mentoring platform for women who want to leverage their businesses. She has also led the Dell Entrepreneurship Center and served on the United Nations Entrepreneurial Council.
 
After her presentation, a panel was held on how and why to encourage women's participation in technology, with Betina Giehl Zanetti Ramos, partner at Nanovetores; Júlia Machado Pinto, founder of Grupo Anitas; and Marcos Litchtblau, Vice President of Finance at ACATE and partner at Automatiza.
 
The Women ACATE group aims to discuss and encourage female participation in the Santa Catarina technology ecosystem. Today, they represent 38% of employees and 25% of employees in the IT sector in the State. “To change this reality, we will promote a series of actions, events and meetings throughout the year with the entrepreneurs of companies associated with ACATE, also involving students and other players in the technology sector”, says Tatiana Takimoto, manager of strategic programs at ACATE.
