Association will host the Santa Catarina branch of Anjos do Brasil

The Santa Catarina Association of Technology Companies (ACATE) took an initiative to boost the development of startups and nascent companies in the State. This Tuesday, August 4th, the entity launched the Anjo SC Investor Network (RIA) during lunch at the Business Verticals, which gives Santa Catarina the opportunity to host a nucleus of the non-profit organization Anjos do Brasil (http://www.anjosdobrasil.net/). The organization promotes angel investment for innovation entrepreneurship in 9 regional hubs across the country. There are 80,000 registered entrepreneurs and investors and about 2,100 projects submitted in Brazil. More than 100 have already received investment.

RIA aims to attract and connect angel investors from Santa Catarina and bring them closer to entrepreneurs seeking support for their technology-based projects. With more than 750 associated technology companies, ACATE will have the role of fostering the relationship in the investment network in the State. Anjos do Brasil's know-how will serve to disseminate information to investors, such as legislation and contract models in angel investment, in addition to guiding and evaluating startups to make them able to receive future investments.

The initiative in Santa Catarina is led by the board of ACATE, which in this constitution had the support of Marcelo Amorim, one of the founders of Anjos do Brasil and an investor operating in the state. ACATE will have the investor Marcelo Cazado, from Floripa Angels as a supporter in carrying out the work of the RIA.

RIA activities will involve meetings such as workshops for investors and entrepreneurs, selection of startups suitable for attracting investments and business presentation rounds, among other types of networking.

The connection of these audiences will be made possible by an online platform already used nationally that gathers information about investors and projects. The platform allows entrepreneurs to register their projects with all the necessary basic information and presentation video.

Networking must qualify investments

The president of ACATE, Guilherme Bernard, explains that the network will start with 30 potential investors, but believes that it will soon attract around 60 participants.

“We believe that the movement will give assertiveness to investments. We see many people today who want to invest in the technology sector and often end up doing so individually, in a business that is not their expertise. The idea of the Angel Investors Network is to have people with different knowledge to not only share the risks, but add knowledge to the business”, says the president of ACATE.
