ACATE will present a proposal for sustainability indicators for technology companies

A study carried out by the entity's Vertical Sustainability will be one of the highlights of Projecta Blumenau, which will take place on the 8th, at the Fritz Muller Foundation

Aligned with the mission of developing the sustainability of associated companies, the Vertical Sustainability of the Santa Catarina Association of Companies of Santa Catarina (ACATE) will present on October 8, in Blumenau (SC), a study of sustainable indicators for technology companies. According to Vertical's director, Gerson Zimmer, the initiative intends to create an evaluation method to measure the sustainability of companies and support the elaboration of specific policies for the segment. Programming is part of Project Blumenau, an event that will debate aspects related to the management of social projects and sustainability.
 
“This is a tool under construction, which has already been validated with Vertical companies, and I believe that the criteria indicated are quite mature. Now, we seek external validation”, he announces. According to Zimmer, the parameters currently used to guide organizations' sustainability policies are focused on industrial models. “Our Vertical uses international methods, but adapted to the regional reality, meeting what we believe are key points to improve the management of technology-based organizations, from the point of view of sustainability, strategic business management and the culture of the organization” , explains.
 
ProjectaBlumenau 2014, promoted by the Project Management Institute of Santa Catarina (PMI SC), will be held at the Fritz Muller Foundation and will also include lectures on Project Management techniques in the social area and legal aspects of fundraising. Vertical Sustainability
Vertical Sustainability was created in the second half of 2011, with the aim of promoting associations between technology companies linked to ACATE, which have sustainability practices in their management or which focus on the development of sustainable technologies. Together, these organizations become stronger, as they exchange experiences and develop the concept of sustainability, whether in the field of technology development or in management models.
 
The companies that make up Vertical are divided into two areas: technology companies for the environment, which work on sustainability through technological innovation, developing products for the market; and companies that are focused on sustainable management. Currently, the companies Nexxera, Dígitro, Umwelt Environmental Biotechnology and Audaces actively participate in Vertical Sustainability. In addition, the group has been counting on the support of Sense Consultoria Socioambiental, Relata Editorial and Unimed.
