The Santa Catarina Association of Technology Companies (ACATE) promotes a Special Verticalmoço, this Tuesday (1st), at the Hotel Maria do Mar, from 11:30 am to present unprecedented numbers of the entity's Business Verticals program and launch the portfolio digitalization of vertical companies. The event will feature the participation of the State Government, through the State Secretariat for Sustainable Economic Development, which will present the programs that are being developed with a focus on innovation in Santa Catarina.

The study developed by ACATE addresses comparative data in relation to 2011 and 2012, such as the number of employees, public funds raised to promote RD&I, investments made in RD&I and revenue from exports. It will also be possible to know the opinion of the entrepreneurs regarding this model of practice of associativism, whether they carried out business or internal partnerships between the Verticals and in relation to greater visibility in the market and the public authorities.

The Business Verticals model was born in 2009 and currently has 12 Verticals, in the areas of Sustainability, Energy, Cloud Computing, Education, Games, Government, Manufacturing, Health, Security, Telecom, Agribusiness and Textiles. Together, they account for 164 companies, but not all of them participated in the first survey, carried out in 2011, which shows the evolution of the associates.

Portfolio assists in the search for IT services and solutions

The electronic portfolio of technological solutions offered by ACATE's Business Verticals aims to highlight the complementarities and overlaps of existing solutions, in addition to giving visibility to companies' skills, promoting business opportunities and attracting national and international investors. The tool has a Web version, which will be available from October 1st and, later, on Android and iOS mobile platforms.

The initiative was made possible through a research project submitted to the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa e Inovação do Estado de Santa Catarina – FAPESC, with the support of Univali and Palmsoft – a Vertical Games company, and allows consulting the solutions developed by the Verticalized companies. Searches can be carried out by vertical, by state technology hub, by company, by solutions (taxonomy of vertical solutions) and by scenarios (playful). In addition, the tool also includes an institutional video of each Vertical.
