The honorees received a commemorative plaque and were designated as honorary ambassadors of the movement, which completed 2 years of activity in 2018, debating topics such as the digital economy, data protection and democracy in the digital age, among other subjects, aiming for the digital transformation to contribute to the fight against inequalities, stimulate the exercise of citizenship and Brazilian competitiveness in the global scenario.
They received their plaque during dinner: Vitor Lippi (Federal Deputy for the PSDB); Laércio Cosentino (CEO of Totvs); Paula Bellizia (CEO of Microsoft Brazil); Tony Martins (CEO of IBM Brazil); Ricardo Rivera (Head of Department at BNDES); Otávio Viegas Caixeta (Director of the Department of Digital Ecosystems at MCTIC); Luis Felipe Salin Monteiro (Secretary of the Information and Communication Technology Secretariat of the Ministry of Planning) and Henrique Faulhaber (IT Sector Representative on the Internet Brazil Management Committee). Maurício Ruiz (CEO of Intel); Benito Paret (President of TI Rio – Sindicato das Empresas de Informática); and Miriam Wimmer (Director of MCTIC's Policy for Transformation Department) were unable to attend, but sent representatives.
About the Brazil Movement, Digital Country
Launched in 2016, Brasil, País Digital is a multi-sector, non-profit movement, led by ABES, which works towards a digital transformation agenda for the country. Currently, there are 12 partner entities and several volunteer employees engaged in the campaign. In December 2017, it began to recognize professionals, researchers and authorities who stand out for their history of supporting the information technology sector and for the digital transformation of Brazilian society, handing them a commemorative plaque and naming them honorary ambassadors of the movement. .
