Event in partnership with ABGI discusses the influences of legislation in the technology and electronics sector

São Paulo, June 9, 2020 - The new Computer Law (Law 10,969 / 19, based on Law 8248/91), was recently enacted by the government through a provisional measure to meet the requirements of the World Trade Organization (WTO). To adapt to the requirements of this body, the government created a system of tax credits, which would be received based on investments in RD&I. With the publication of the regulated decree (Decree 13.356 / 20 of May 2020), the Law comes into force in its entirety.

"If before the incentive was granted through an IPI rate on the sale of a product, now the incentive will be transferred to the company through federal tax credits, based on the amount of R&D investment made by the company", explains Rodolfo Fücher, president of ABES - Brazilian Association of Software Companies, which has among its members two thousand companies in the segment of software and technology services in Brazil.

Among the objectives of ABES, is to ensure a business environment conducive to innovation. And, in view of the publication of the new Law and its Decree, businessmen and industrialists in the sector raise a series of questions about how this will impact the future of the market in the post-pandemic period. Therefore, in order to debate the issue and answer questions, ABES, in partnership with ABGI - a consultancy specializing in tax incentives, development, processes, innovation and financial management, invited representatives from the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC) to talk about the impacts of this legislation update for the market.

"With several changes in the Law, it is natural that doubts arise about how a new Decree will be implemented and in particular how Software developments, common in the execution of R & D & I counterparts, may be of interest to the Software sector", says Vanda Scartezini, Director and Counselor ABES and the mediator of the online event.

The webinar will take place on June 10, at 2:30 pm. Registration is free and available on the website http://www.sympla.com.br/ABESSOFTWARE.

For this virtual conversation wheel, the following will be present:
