Seminar held on May 7th debated innovation, productivity and safety 
 
ABES gathered in Brasília (DF) representatives from Industry and the Executive Power at the Seminar “Government and the IT Sector – Assurance of Innovation, Productivity and Security”.

The event was opened by Jorge Sukarie, president of ABES, who presented the panel: “The IT sector in Brazil: relevance and opportunities”, with the first results of the Software and Services Market Study, carried out with the IDC, referring to the year 2014.
 
Jeovani Salomão, president of Assespro, was the moderator of the Panel: “New technologies and their effects on public administration”, which included Fábio Gandour, Chief Scientist at IBM Brazil; Luiz Sergio Pires, Chief Scientist at Microsoft Brazil; Cristiano Heckert, Secretary of SLTI – Department of Logistics and Information Technology of the Ministry of Planning; and Paulo Eduardo Kapp, Telebrás' technical-operational director.

 
“Privacy and Security: International Practices” was the theme of the second panel conducted by Sérgio Paulo Gallindo, president of BRASSCOM, with the participation of Dep. Federal Izalci Lucas Ferreira (PSDB – DF); Victoria A. Espinel (President and CEO of BSA – The Software Alliance); and of Dr. Manoel dos Santos (legal director of ABES).
 
The closing table brought together Aldo Rebelo, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI); Virgílio Almeida, MCTI's National Secretary for Information Technology Policies), and the presidents of the main associations in the sector: Jorge Sukarie (ABES); Jeovani Salomão (Assespro) and Sérgio Paulo Gallindo (BRASSCOM).
