"General Data Protection Law: Fundamentals and Implementation" is the theme selected for the course, in view of the organizations' demand for guidance regarding the implementation of the legislation, scheduled to come into force in August 2020, both from a legal and technical point of view.

the on-site course "General Data Protection Law: Fundamentals and Implementation" it will provide participants with important theoretical knowledge and, mainly, practical information for adapting the organization to the LGPD, highlighting the stages of diagnosis, mapping of existing data in the organization's possession, definition of procedures and processes, definition of those responsible and governance. In the course, participants will have the opportunity to learn by making a plan for their organizations", explains the lawyer Thomaz Côrte Real, consultant to the ABES legal department and one of the speakers.

This face-to-face ABES ACADEMY course will be held in 4 classes, on March 9, 11, 16 and 18, from 2 pm to 8 pm, at R. Henrique Monteiro, 79 (Pinheiros), with a total workload of 24 hours, taught by highly qualified professionals who bring legal, technical and practical knowledge and experience in relation to data protection, privacy and information security. In addition to Thomaz, lawyers Adriano Mendes, Ana Cláudia Moro and Daniella Caverni are also part of the team of speakers. Carlos Eduardo Reolon, Francisco Espuny, Klauss Kiesling and Marcos Freitas are specialists in Information Technology, IT Governance and Information Security.

Different administrative sanctions due to infractions committed to the rules are provided for in the Law, such as a fine that can reach up to R$ 50,000,000.00 for infraction, warning, publication of the infraction; blocking of the personal data referred to in the offense until it is regularized; elimination of the personal data referred to in the violation or even the total or partial prohibition of activities related to the processing of data, especially in the event of information leakage (whether due to technical failure, human action or hacker attack).
