There will be two acceleration cycles in 2016 with up to 300 places each

ABES is participating in the Programa Inovativa Brasil, a startup acceleration program of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) in partnership with Sebrae. “Our participation is through the indication of entrepreneurs so that they can be mentors for the program”, explains Jamile Sabatini Marques, director of Innovation and Development at the entity.

Jorge Sukarie and Francisco Camargo, executive president and managing director of ABES, respectively, have already confirmed their role as volunteer mentors for the next cycle of the program. For Carlos Sacco, ABES Marketing Director, who has been a volunteer mentor since June 2015, it is a rich experience to share what you know and also learn. “One of the startups that I mentored, Netbee, was one of the 10 finalists in 2015 and is now in Madrid participating in Mundilab”, he boasts.

Individual mentorships complement the acceleration cycles of selected startups. They are provided by executives and volunteer investors, for a period of up to four months. They guide entrepreneurs to establish new innovative businesses. Inovativa Brasil has more than 11,000 entrepreneurs on its platform, 400 volunteer mentors in Brazil and abroad and a wide network of public and private partners.

InovAtiva Brasil will in 2016 double its capacity. Two startup acceleration cycles will be promoted in the year, with up to 300 vacancies in each cycle. Registration for the first cycle is now open and runs until March 14th. The second cycle will start on May 23rd. More information at www.inovativabrasil.com.br
