Meeting on 01/31 will bring together players from the IT sector for clinical laboratories

ABES was invited to participate in an event on the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), on January 31, in São Paulo, promoted to members of LIS Brasil (Brazilian Association of Laboratory Information Systems Developers), entity that integrates the main players in the clinical laboratory market. “We are aware of the impacts of the LGPD on Brazilian companies and we, as an institution representing this sector, must unite in clarifying the law and providing guidance on the next steps”, justifies Marcelo Lorencin, president of LIS Brasil.

The lawyer of the ABES legal department, Thomaz Côrte Real, will be one of the main speakers. It will address the impacts of the new law for the IT sector, especially aspects that may represent legal uncertainty for companies that collect and process personal data, as is the case of LISS Brasil members who, according to Lorencin, together process more than 1 .2 billion exams and more than 125 million laboratory visits annually, which represents 60% of the national volume.

ABES's Relationship and Services director, Carlos Sacco, will also participate in the morning of lectures, when he will present an overview of the Brazilian IT market, with an emphasis on software and services, in addition to talking about the work that the association develops for the development and strengthening the ICT sector.

“We are fully willing to establish partnerships and work together with other institutions, through collaborative work. This event can be an important step in bringing our institutions closer together”, bets Marcelo Lorencin.
