Florianópolis (SC) hosted the Startup Summit 2024 on August 14, 15 and 16, an event promoted by Sebrae in partnership with the Santa Catarina Association of Technology Companies (Acate). The event provided quality technical knowledge and generated connections and networking among participants, bringing together important players within the startup ecosystem who stand out for presenting good solutions and doing good business for the segment. Aligned with the objectives of the Startup Summit, ABES was present at the event presenting its activities, with emphasis on the Startup Internship Program, and established strategic connections with participants.
The event featured over 200 speakers and welcomed over 10,000 people for a meeting between startups, investors and big names in the ecosystem. The event lasted 3 days with many activities, auditoriums with lots of content, a business area with the main companies in the sector and the presence of the main opinion makers and trendsetters from the national and international market.
To reinforce its commitment to ESG pillars, Startup Summit 2024 presented a series of actions and practical measures to minimize environmental impact and promote social responsibility. In addition to initiatives such as reducing the use of plastic and proper waste treatment, Sebrae Startups, one of the event organizers, prepared a special program for impact startups – from content trails to the opportunity to participate in investment rounds.
After leading the research and consolidation of the Impact Startups Report Brazil 2024, Sebrae Startups will bring 226 impact startups to the event. They were among the 1,000 finalists of the Sebrae Startups Award and, as a result, earned the right to participate and exhibit on one of the days. Of these, 40 will participate in an investment round, in which they will be connected to impact funds and angel investors, in addition to having exchanges with large organizations that also seek to resolve social and environmental actions. The actions in this vertical were distributed over the three days. On the 14th, the focus was on sharing content in lectures and panels, while the 15th was dedicated to the investment round. On the last day, actions took place at the Sebrae Startups stand and business exhibitions.
Our team, formed by Bruna Cardoso, Elaine Cristina Menzani, Clara Savelli, Joice Ramos and Jamile Sabatini Marques, PhD, had the incredible opportunity to connect with representatives of associated companies and talk about ABES's work with new companies in this super event organized by Sebrae.
