Following the growing presence of Brazilian software companies in the international market, ABES (Brazilian Association of Software Companies) announces an agenda for participation in international events until the end of the year. Four missions are planned for the last quarter, and between 20 and 25 October, a mission from the organization will be at the ICANN 63 World Congress, held at the International Convention Center in Barcelona, Spain, and organized by ICANN (acronym in English for Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), considered the body that governs the world internet.

The association will be represented by its vice president, Paulo Roque, and the director and board member, Vanda Scartezini. On October 22, at 3:00 pm (Barcelona time), both will be part of a conference especially focused on topics of interest to Latin America, held at the Lac Space auditorium. Vanda will coordinate a series of debates, while Paulo will present an unprecedented survey on the acceptance of the top 50 Brazilian websites to e-mails with the new foreign (non-ASCII) characters approved by ICANN.

"In a globalized world it is essential that the Brazilian technology sector is adapted to interact with all countries and cultures, which includes acceptance of characters from other languages - including some of the most widespread in the world, such as Mandarin, Arabic and Russian. We analyzed the top 50 sites in the country and found that there is still a lot to improve ", comments Paulo Roque.

Paulo Roque and Vanda Scartezini will actively participate in the event's agenda to later share, with directors and associates of ABES, the technical knowledge derived from world experiences, in order to enrich the software sector in Brazil. High-level ICANN Congresses take place every two years, bringing together associations and government officials from around 150 countries. High-ranking ministers and representatives of these nations will be present in Barcelona to discuss technical, legal and geopolitical challenges in the connected world.
"It is a week in which the top echelon of world technology meets to discuss technical issues that will guide the network for the next few years, affecting the entire population. This year, for example, certainly one of the most prominent themes will be the key rollover, which took place on the 11th of October, renewing the certificate that governs DNSSEC systems and impacting navigation around the world ", explains Vanda Scartezini, one of the coordinators of the meeting.

Continuing the agenda of international missions, ABES will also be present at the MTECH Mission: Brazil & Portugal, in Lisbon, between the 5th and 16th of November, with the representation of the director of relationships and services, Carlos Sacco; in addition to two events that will be attended by the Director of Promotion and Innovation, Jamile Sabatini Marques: Smart City Expo World Congress 2018, in Barcelona, from November 10th to 18th; and The 11th Knowledge Cities World Summit, in Tenerfie, Canary Islands, from 18 to 23 November.
