The new WG is linked to the Regulatory Committee and aims to deepen the understanding of the law and promote debate on its impacts and challenges for the sector, as well as discuss proposals for measures related to the future regulation of the LGPD.

Sanctioned in August to enter into force after 18 months, the LGPD will take effect from February 2020 and aims to ensure the privacy of personal data, implement clearer rules on the processes for collecting, storing and sharing this information, is applied to all sectors of the economy and provides for high sanctions, especially in the case of data leakage, with fines of up to 2% of revenue (limit of R$ 50 million). read here the matter about the sanction carried out by President Michel Temer.

“The receptivity on the part of the members with the GT was very good. Leakage cases have occurred, lawsuits are being instituted and we need to disseminate best practices, in addition to indicating paths for their regulation, based on our dialogue with the National Congress”, explained Carolina Marzano.

Members interested in participating in the WG can get in touch by email: carol.marzano@abes.org.br. The WG's next meeting is scheduled for February 2019, but it has not yet been set.
