On a virtual table, experts analyze the impacts of the pandemic on these companies

Sao Paulo, May 25, 2019 - When health organizations indicated social isolation to contain the advances of the new coranavirus, many companies raised concerns about the economic future of business. However, while for some startups the sentiment is accompanied by uncertainties and doubts about business continuity, for others it may be an opportunity Currently, this market faces reevaluations in strategic planning, redefinition of investments and cost reductions, but also an opportunity to receive investment funds, depending on the market in which the startup operates.

Faced with this scenario, ABES - Brazilian Association of Software Companies, in partnership with KPMG - one of the largest companies providing professional services that include Audit, Tax and Advisory Services - brings together specialists to discuss the future of startups. One of them is Tiago Fabris, from the investor Bossa Nova Investimentos, who will discuss how the day-to-day of startups is going in these new times. The webinar will take place on May 27, at 2:30 pm, and there are free registrations available on the website http://www.sympla.com.br/ABESSOFTWARE.

According to Rodolfo Fücher, president of ABES, these companies can contribute to the country's economy due to the rapid adaptation of the services they offer to society. "One of our goals is to help build a more digital and less unequal Brazil and, in this delicate moment that we face, strengthening startups is one of the ways to mitigate the negative impacts caused by the pandemic on the economy", he comments.

Felipe M. Catharino, Managing Partner in the Markets area at KPMG, adds: "The challenge for accelerators is to prioritize and coordinate these initiatives that will contribute to the country's economic future. However, it is important to plan a quicker route to recover from the crisis and save your business in this period that disoriented all entrepreneurs ", he reveals.

Tiago Fabri, from Bossa Nova Investimentos, points out that the Venture Capital market has already carried out several deals over the first four months of the year. "In Bossa Nova, we used the first weeks of the Covid-19 pandemic to individually guide each Startup in our portfolio, understand the runaway time of each one, and carry out the necessary pivots. Taking these actions, at the end of April we carried out three new investments through our first round of online investment. We understand that there are many new innovative solutions at this time at an attractive price, and we don’t want to let them pass, "he reveals.
