Series of webinars on "new times" brings experts to debate good management practices and advances in digitalization in times of crisis

São Paulo, June 30, 2020 - The emergence of the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus showed some social wounds and, with the distance measures to contain the advances of the disease, many companies had to deal with the (worrying) impacts of the economy. To search for alternatives, executives called on corporate governance to help preserve and manage the business and its economic value in the market.

In order to raise debates on the basic principles and good governance practices in companies and the role of digital transformation, ABES - Brazilian Association of Software Companies, with the support of The Software Alliance - BSA and the Esper, Paranhos office, Gushiken | EPG Advogados, holds a webinar with specialists in institutional and executive relations on the 1st of July, at 2:30 pm. The online event aims to discuss the topic and answer questions from participants. Registration is free and carried out on the website http://www.sympla.com.br/ABESSOFTWARE.

For the president of ABES, corporate governance is of great importance to maintain balance and transparency in the relationship between partners and corporations. "The agility and transparency in the relations between all the actors of the organization started to have a fundamental role for the quick correction of course. It becomes inconceivable to think about quarterly meetings, now they should be almost daily, depending on the case. The effective and constant exchange of experiences and perspectives can characterize business survival and will certainly strengthen relationships ", he explains.

"While the crisis has clearly been driving the digital transformation, it is necessary to revisit the governance models to ensure the consistency and efficiency of the management strategies adopted in this moment of high turbulence", adds Eduardo Paranhos, founding partner of the EPG Advogados office.

The pandemic has also speeded up the processes of digital transformation, so the need to adapt to new technologies was essential to remain competitive in the market. "Corporate governance must also actively participate in the conduct of this transformational process, but we must be careful not to extrapolate its competencies and cause an unnecessary distraction in the organization's management", comments Fücher.

For Pitanga, from BSA, personal and professional life has changed, driving the rapid expansion of remote work and online collaboration. "Today, the impact of software on work, education and essential services is much clearer. Corporate governance in this new scenario is essential for companies to achieve their goals, minimizing possible risks that may arise", he emphasizes.

In times of uncertainty, companies should prevail the relationships built with investors over the years, as this attitude can also contribute to the visibility and social engagement of businesses.
