To think about Brazil, analyze world experiences and suggest national policies to accelerate the country's digital transformation

 
ABES (Brazilian Association of Software Companies), the most representative entity in the software and digital technology sector in the country, with around 2 thousand members, announces the creation of ABES Think-Tank, an initiative aimed at suggesting public policies that lead to a national strategy for Digital Transformation.
 
O Tink-Tank has the difficult task of thinking about Brazil of the Future, and how public policies can accelerate the Digital Transformation of the Country.
 
The Study developed by ABES Think-Tank, will be among all candidates for the presidency of the Republic and candidates for state governors, with proposals designed to guide the digital transformation, the development of the Software and Technology sector, the insertion of Brazil in the value chains of the knowledge economy.
 
"Our goal is to suggest public policies that are not from the government, but from the State - that is, that in fact represent a project for growth for a modern Brazil and with a strong and competitive software industry, in the long run, in a structured, independent of the changes that happen in the different governments. The country needs to invest in technology and innovation in order to grow as a competitive economy and generate jobs ", says Vanda Scartezini, ABES advisor and leader of the Think-Tank.
 
Along with Vanda, other important leaders are part of the project, such as Dr. Dorothea Werneck, former Minister of Industry and Commerce and Labor; Dr. Deana Weikersheimer; professor at FGV and lawyer with extensive experience in the software area; Marcelo Pagotti, former SETIC secretary at the Ministry of Planning, Patricia Pessi, former director of Electronic Government at SLTI (now SETIC) at the Ministry of Planning; Rodolfo Fucher, former director of Public Policy at Microsoft.
 
The group meets periodically to discuss the main national and global challenges and opportunities, so that a plan can be devised to find and awaken the Digital Advantages of Brazil.
 
Also called "factories-of-ideas", in Portuguese, Think-Tanks are structured to analyze scenarios and propose solutions, with the support of renowned specialists in a given area. In order to increase the porosity and participation of other representative entities in the sector, ABES Think-Tank provided some communication channels.
 
Know a little more about the members of ABES Think-Tank:
 
Dr. Dorothea Werneck - Master and PhD in Economics, member of the Economic and Social Development Council, with a long career in the highest positions of the Federal and State Executive, in addition to relevant positions in the private sector.
 
Dr. Deana Weikersheimer - Lawyer, professor at FGV with long public and private activity, always focusing on the Software and Information Technology Sector.
 
Francisco Camargo - President of the Brazilian Association of Software Companies (ABES) since 2016. Production Engineer with several specialization courses in Brazil and abroad, he is Founder and President of Grupo CLM, Softex's Advisor.
 
Marcelo Pagotti - Bachelor and MBA in Information Technology, IT Manager at Banco do Brasil, was Secretary of SETIC at the Ministry of Planning and is a member of the boards of NIC.br, ICP Brazil, SOFTEX and the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee / CGI.br.
 
• Patrícia Pessi - Master in Communication and Information, she was Director of Electronic Government at SLTI (today SETIC) of the Ministry of Planning;
 
Rodolfo Fücher - Master in Marketing and Bachelor in Computer Science, he has several specializations; businessman and angel investor, a career developed at Microsoft where he became Director of Public Policies, he is a member of ABES.
 
Vanda Scartezini - Electronic Engineer with several specializations, Brazilian member of ICANN, with a long public and private career in high positions in the segments of Information and Communication Technologies, in addition to Intellectual Property, she is a member of ABES.
