On Monday (19/02), representatives of the Brazilian Association of Software Companies (ABES) met with the Vice-President of the Republic and Minister of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Geraldo Alckmin, at the headquarters of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) in São Paulo. The association group, composed of Paulo Milliet Roque, Rodolfo Fücher, Andriei Gutierrez, Francisco Camargo, Marcelo Almeida, Thomaz Côrte Real and consultant Daniel Annenberg, addressed crucial issues for the technology sector and other economic sectors.

Topics such as the importance of artificial intelligence in the national scenario and the need to maintain payroll tax relief to guarantee Brazilian competitiveness were discussed. These measures are vital not only for job creation and the country's socioeconomic development, but also for promoting the reduction of inequalities.

Furthermore, ABES representatives highlighted the relevance of including artificial intelligence in the MDIC Commerce and Services Forum. They also suggested closer monitoring of AI-related legislative projects to ensure that the needs of the sectors represented by the ministry are considered in legislative decisions.

These meetings demonstrate ABES's commitment to the transformative and positive potential of new technologies when integrated into government policies. Together, we can build a more digital and less unequal Brazil.
