In a strategic move to strengthen sustainability in Brazil, the Brazilian Association of Software Companies (ABES) formalized a request for institutional partnership with the Ministry of the Environment (MMA). The meeting, which took place on April 1st, marked the delivery of a document to the National Secretary of the Urban Environment and Environmental Quality, Adalberto Maluf, carried out by Marcelo Almeida, our Director of Government Relations.

ABES proposes to collaborate with the objectives of the MMA through the project “Mobilization for Inequality Reduction”, a joint initiative with ReUrbi and the Third Sector Observatory. The mobilization aims to promote the recycling and reconditioning of electronic equipment throughout Brazil, with the resources obtained being directed to educational and socio-digital inclusion projects.

The desired partnership with the MMA has the potential to implement Mobilization in selected municipalities, integrating it into the ministry's public policies. This reverse logistics project represents a significant step towards responsible environmental management and sustainable development, aligning with national and global efforts for a greener future.

The ABES initiative highlights the importance of collaboration between the private and public sectors in the search for innovative solutions to environmental challenges, in addition to reinforcing the association's commitment to corporate social responsibility and the UN Sustainable Development objectives.
