Term signed with City Hall, with Mayor Bruno Covas, refers to the implementation of a protocol for business activities in technologySão Paulo, June 27, 2020 - ABES - Brazilian Association of Software Companies, together with the telecommunications and information technology sector, today signed the term of commitment regarding the implementation of a protocol that will guide the resumption of activities in this segment in the city of São Paulo, SP . In a ceremony held on June 27, at the Municipality of São Paulo - with the presence of Municipal Mayor Bruno Covas, Municipal Secretary of the Civil House Orlando Lindório de Faria, Municipal Secretary of Labor and Entrepreneurship Aline Cardoso, Mayor, Councilor Eduardo Tuma and councilor Daniel Annenberg - the rules for social distance, hygiene and sanitation were established, communication regarding guidance to customers and employees, collaboration with the testing effort, alternative times for attending the public and selective return to work.

The term considers that the abrupt and careless resumption of activities may represent a setback in the process of easing restrictive measures, causing serious damage to health and the economy. “We are committed to helping the city of São Paulo to return to activities with all the care and attention that this sensitive period needs. Therefore, we are adopting health protocols that will help to prevent and contain the spread of the pandemic while the activities of the IT sector are resumed gradually and carefully in the capital, summarizes Rodolfo Fücher, president of ABES.

In addition to establishing in law the rules of social distance of 1.5m in the work environment, use of physical barriers between stations, encouragement to telework and cleaning of the environments, this term provides for periodic training and guidance to employees as to the symptoms of Covid- 19, hygiene and mandatory use of masks.

The companies also pledged to reduce by 80% the number of clients in the office while the city is classified in orange in the São Paulo Plan, 60% if it is in the yellow classification and 40% if it is in the green classification. And the opening hours will be differentiated so that the peak hours of public transport are avoided.

In addition, employees belonging to the risk group, who have had symptoms or contact with infected or suspected patients with COVID-19 in the last 7 days, should not resume face-to-face activities; or who have children who, in order to carry out the work, depend on the functioning of daycare centers or schools that have not yet resumed their activities.

The term of validity of the signed commitment term is the period of the State of Public Calamity in the city of São Paulo due to the coronavirus pandemic, not exceeding twelve months from the date of its signature.
