In order to integrate the discussions of the 2019 Urban Circuit, the USP Global Cities Program of the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of São Paulo will promote the Seminar “Innovation and digital technology in Brazilian cities”, on 10/10, aiming to encourage debate and gather experiences on the application of new practices and technologies to urban public policies. Thus, it brings to light themes such as resilience and urban planning, internet of things and digital technology, intra-urban security and the environment and public policies.

Free of charge, this seminar counts on the partnership of ABES and the presence of Jamile Sabatini Marques, director of Innovation and Development of the entity and researcher, who will mediate the panel Internet of Things and digital technology”. It will take place at Sala Alfredo Bosi, at IEA-USP, located at Rua Praça do Relógio, 109, Cidade Universitária, São Paulo. Interested parties will also be able to follow the live broadcast of the event from 10 am. inscriptions by site.

The UrbanSus Seminar Cycle aims to contribute to a greater understanding and propagation of the theme of sustainability among academia, society and the public sector, as a stimulus to the construction of a culture of sustainability allied to socio-environmental ethics, in search of answers to the question: “ How can innovation improve urban services and policies in an inclusive and sustainable way?”.

In line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the UrbanSus Cycle aims to reflect on the role of cities and encourage good practices, sharing sustainable urban solutions through innovative social, environmental and urban technologies.
