Details were presented in a lecture on July 26  

 

ABES announced that it will institutionally support the Brazilian mission MTec Portugal 2017, which will take place during the Web Summit, one of the main technology events in the world, to be held in Lisbon, from 6 to 9 November 2017.  

To present the details to the associates, a lecture was held  Destination Portugal, on July 26, at the Bourbon Convention, in São Paulo.

The activities will take place within the framework of the Web Summit 2017 event in Lisbon (see schedule)The following week, there will be a 2nd stage, with an institutional profile, for cooperation studies in R&D+I projects with previously selected members, in other technology-intensive regions of Portugal. (see schedule).
 
Currently, this European country is considered the main entrance of Brazilians to the European community, from where excellent bridges with Lusophone regions on other continents are also built.
 
The purpose of this mission is to allow the members of the delegation, a greater knowledge and approach to the ICT and R&D+I market in Portugal. Your demands, local suppliers for the development of partnerships, lines of research, innovation ecosystem, scaleups & entrepreneurship, academic alliances with universities and schools, incubators & startup centers, social and sustainable technology initiatives, information on available funds and access to investors, legal, tax, labor, real estate, existing bilateral agreements, as well as agreements between Portugal and other countries, in addition to sectoral information on the technological market.
 
Digital Trees, organizer of the mission, developed an agenda that will allow serving each member of the delegation, seeking to fulfill all demands, through diverse, segmented and regional activities. “The organizer will also be able to support the continuity of initiatives that involve articulations and strategic alliances for the development of international collaborations”, explains Gustavo Miguelez, Americas Director at Digital Trees.

About the ICT market in Portugal
 
In 2016, Portugal registered the opening of 114 companies per day and 35,000 startups registered in 2015 alone. Considered among the best countries for business in 2017, according to the FORBES ranking. The ecosystem of startups has grown at an average 2 times higher than the European average. By 2020, ICT investment in the country will increase at a rate of 4.8% per year, announced IDC. The shares destined to technologies of the third platform and in the so-called “innovation accelerators”, will add up to more than half of the market. Stratifying the data, IDC notes that “in 2020, the third platform and innovation accelerators will represent 52% of ICT expenditure in Portugal”.
 
In the Portuguese market, currently, around 52% of the budget of medium and large organizations is destined for traditional ICT. Near 26% is directed towards outsourcing and just over 20% is directed towards cloud, private or in model hosting. However, regarding the perspective of budget distribution for 2020, there is a decrease in the relevance of traditional ICT and outsourcing and an increase in the cloud, both public (from 5% to 11%), and private, and in 2020, 43% of the national corporate budget will be focused on cloud platforms (public and private), according to IDC Portugal.
