In March 2022, ABES joined the Brazil Network of the UN Global Compact, which aims to mobilize the business community in the adoption and promotion of good corporate practices.

As part of its ESG policy, the association has expanded its participation in UN Global Compact projects and signed up for the activities of the Anti-Corruption Platform.

This anti-corruption platform is a space for the development of projects and for the promotion of learning, constructive dialogue and exchange of experiences, influencing people and companies and providing an understanding of the risks and opportunities in the fight against corruption. In 2017, the platform was one of 23 organizations in Brazil recognized with the Pro-Integro seal, for the action of the National Strategy to Combat Corruption and Money Laundering (ENCCLA).

“The Global Compact is a voluntary initiative that provides guidelines for the promotion of sustainable growth and citizenship, through committed and innovative corporate leadership, recognizing the need to build peaceful, just and inclusive societies. Such objectives could not be more aligned with what ABES has been developing and practicing since its foundation”, highlighted Carolina Marzano, Compliance Officer at ABES.

With a recognized work to combat software piracy, ABES launched, in 2018, the An Ethical Company Program, which encourages associates to formally adopt the highest ethical standards in dealing with their internal or external affairs.

Being among the 148 organizations that make up the Anti-Corruption Platform further endorses and strengthens our mission to build an ethical business environment, conducive to innovation, dynamic and globally competitive“, concluded Caroline.

The platform's actions are mainly connected with the Sustainable Development Goal 16, which aims to promote peaceful, just and inclusive societies that provide equal access to justice and that are based on respect for human rights, an effective rule of law, good governance at all levels and transparent, effective and accountable institutions.

The goals linked to the work of the Platform for Action against Corruption are:

16.3 – Promote the rule of law, nationally and internationally, and guarantee equal access to justice for all;

16.4 – Significantly reduce financial flows and illegal weapons, strengthen the recovery and return of stolen resources and fight all forms of organized crime;

16.5 – Substantially reduce corruption and bribery in all its forms;

16.6 – Develop effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels;

16.71- Ensure responsive, inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels.
