On May 7, 2025, it was held a live, which was moderated by Andriei Gutierrez, president of ABES, to present and discuss the evolution of the Plano Brasil Digital 2030+ (BD30+), launched a year ago as a strategic initiative to drive digital transformation in all spheres of society.
The BD30+ plan is more than a project; it is a long-term, multi-sectoral strategy with the participation of the Federal Government with a clear purpose: to accelerate digital transformation for the sustainable economic and social development of Brazil. The focus of the project is to strengthen national competitiveness and productivity, promote digital inclusion and position the country as a global reference in research, development and use of digital technologies. The entities that make up the Management and Governance Council of the plan are Brasscom, ABES, CIEB, Fiesp, CNI and Febraban, in addition to the Economic and Social Development Council (CDESS), known as “Conselhão”.
“We started talking to other entities because a digital transformation plan is essential for all of society and all sectors. It should cover not only the software or hardware industry, but also all sectors – industry, agriculture, services, health, and much more,” said Laercio Cosentino, Chairman of the Board of Brasscom and CDESS advisor.
The six strategic pillars of BD30+
The BD30+ was structured in six strategic pillars, which serve as the basis for ensuring an effective and comprehensive digital transformation:
- Digital Infrastructure – Expansion and modernization of connectivity and digital networks in the country.
- Strategic Technologies – Development and application of innovative solutions for different sectors.
- Research and Innovation – Stimulating scientific and technological production focused on digital advancement.
- Digital Education – Training and qualification of professionals to meet the demand for digital skills.
- Digital Social Inclusion – Equitable access to technological tools to reduce inequalities.
- Business environment – Creation of favorable conditions for the growth of technology and innovation companies.
Digital Inclusion and Education
One of the central themes addressed in the live was the need for digital literacy as an essential pillar for digital transformation to happen in an inclusive and sustainable way. “Training people, not only new entrants, but also those already active in the market, is essential so that they can update themselves, increase their income and, thus, promote the country's growth”, he highlighted. Laercio Cosentino.
Furthermore, Rodolfo Fücher, vice-president of the ABES Board and advisor to the CDESS, emphasized that digital inclusion should be an instrument to combat social inequality: “We want a more equal country, where everyone has opportunities. The mobilization of everyone is important to avoid living on an ‘island’ within the country.” With a robust plan that includes public consultations, collaborative research and innovation projects, digital inclusion and training programs, regional events and initiatives, the expectation is that municipalities from all over the country can join, contributing with their particularities to the Brazilian digital transformation project.
Open Invitation for Companies and Entities
Gloria Guimarães, CDESS Advisor and Former President of SERPRO, reinforced that the Plano Brasil Digital 2030+ is open for other entities and companies to join the movement, promoting a more robust and diversified ecosystem. The objective is to consolidate a collective effort to digitally transform Brazil, covering sectors such as industry, commerce, services, health and agriculture.
To increase society's participation and engagement, it will be launched a communication campaign which seeks to mobilize citizens, companies and organizations in favor of the digitalization of the country. The expectation is that municipalities from all over Brazil will contribute with their particularities, strengthening the impact of the project and making it increasingly accessible to the population.
With a long-term vision, BD30+ positions itself as a national strategy to strengthen competitiveness, productivity and digital inclusion, placing Brazil as a global reference in the research, development and use of digital technologies.
