The food industry company adopted Vision One to ensure attack surface protection and compliance with the LGPD
For 18 years, Tondo S/A, a company from Caxias do Sul that has one of the largest wheat milling capacities in the South region, has chosen Trend Micro, a world leader in cybersecurity solutions, to protect your digital environment. Now that it is expanding its horizons to São Paulo, it has renewed its partnership by migrating to the Trend Micro Vision One™ platform, which integrates EDR/XDR, enhancing the quality of existing tools.
Tondo, better known to consumers by the Orquídea brand, has a turnover of 1.2 billion reais and 70 years of history in the food industry producing flour, pasta, cookies and bread. With the expansion and regulation of the LGPD – General Data Protection Law, the company felt the need to adopt a security solution that would improve the quality of threat detection and response.
“We have a certain obsession with security. We know that nothing we do will keep us safe from attacks, but we will do our utmost to cause the least possible damage if this occurs,” highlights João Luiz Roth, Administrative, Financial and Institutional Relations Director at Tondo S/A, who also acts as DPO (Data Protection Officer).
João says that at Tondo, the use of pen drives or CDs has not been permitted for a long time, and that precautions are taken, such as separate networks for visitors and employees, as well as monitoring the use of inappropriate or unnecessary content. The use of AI is currently being evaluated on different fronts to ensure data protection and security.
Integrasul, a consulting firm specializing in information security, has been helping Tondo on this journey of modernizing its on-premise infrastructure and seeking new technologies to increase cyber resilience. “Our role as partners is to present solutions that have synergy with the company and make the investment worthwhile, to help it protect its digital environment in the best possible way,” says Marcelo Pacheco, CEO of Integrasul.
Fabrício Lacerda, IT coordinator at Tondo, says that the long-standing partnership with Trend Micro is justified by the high level of performance of its solutions. “The analyses are clear and intuitive. Trend’s platform is robust and complex, but not difficult to use,” he says, highlighting the difference with the dashboard. “I have full visibility of what is happening because all the tools appear on a single screen, which speeds up the analysis and ensures peace of mind for the team. Not to mention the prioritization that XDR offers, with alert triage based on potential risks,” he concludes.
