In an effort to debate and promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) market, ABES will hold, on August 29, at 8:30 am, a live broadcast entitled “Inclusion of People with Disabilities in the ICT Market“. The event promises to highlight not only the challenges faced by these professionals, but also strategies to create more accessible and welcoming work environments. In the virtual meeting, we will address the initiatives developed by companies to promote equal opportunities, as well as the tangible benefits observed for both organizations and society. registration is free and the event will have translation into libras.

Educational, employment and income data indicate that people with disabilities still face significant barriers to achieving better living and working conditions. It is estimated that in Brazil there are 18.6 million people with disabilities, considering those aged two years and over, according to the 2022 Continuous National Household Sample Survey (PNAD Contínua), conducted by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

“ABES’s live event therefore represents an important opportunity to discuss and disseminate practices and policies that can reverse this scenario of inequality. We hope that the initiative will inspire other organizations to adopt inclusive actions, promoting a more diverse and equitable job market,” explains Clara Savelli, the association’s Project Coordinator.
