The event features lectures by experts and executives from large national and international companies on how new technologies will contribute to operational efficiency; registration is open on the event website

The first edition of INTRA-LOG Expo South America, The only 100% event focused on the universe of intralogistics and automation, takes place in São Paulo from September 3 to 5 with one objective: to promote innovation throughout the chain, allowing companies and professionals to always be one step ahead of market demands.

To this end, in addition to presenting the latest products from more than 200 brands in the pavilion, over three days of the fair with free accreditation, the event will promote the first INTRA-LOG Forum – a program of seminars, presented by experts, renowned companies and industry authorities.

“With the Forum, in addition to the fair, and other attractions designed exclusively for the sector, we want to provide INTRA-LOG visitors with a holistic view of new technologies and solutions to make their operations more efficient and sustainable within the warehouse”, says Cassiano Facchinetti, Managing Director of INTERLINK Exhibitions, co-founder of the event.

The debates will be held on September 3rd and 4th, from 9am to 5pm, and will be divided into four main modules: Emerging Technologies and Sustainability; Intralogistics and Intelligent Automation; Supply Chain and Operational Excellence; and Management and People Transform Intralogistics. The full schedule of lectures can be accessed on here.

“The permanent challenge [of the sector] is to keep up with the level of customer and market demand; in other words, to always be one step ahead when proposing logistics solutions”, he states. Marcella Cunha, executive director of the Brazilian Association of Logistics Operators (ABOL), a supporter of the event. “Therefore, we see discussion and exhibition forums such as INTRA-LOG as essential for Brazil, which considers the development of intralogistics and automation in a segmented way, with a focus on South America.”

According to data from the latest Logistics Operator profile, released in 2022, companies that offer various logistics services, including transportation, storage and inventory management in the country, move R$166 billion annually. The sector also employs around 2 million people, directly and indirectly.

“Intralogistics plays a crucial role in the development of several other sectors in the country. It is what will support, for example, the growth of Brazilian e-commerce operations – which in 2023 alone generated R$254.4 billion in revenue, according to Nielsen,” says Facchinetti. “For companies to increase their operational efficiency and competitiveness, they need to keep up with the technological innovations available – and understand how to implement them. INTRA-LOG will be the main forum for this.”

Constant learning

For Patrícia Bello, Director of Supply Chain Transformation at Leroy Merlin, process automation is an undeniable reality in today’s market and companies need to adapt to it. “This means investing in new technologies and offering adequate training to employees, with the aim of ensuring that they have the necessary skills to use the tools available in an increasingly effective manner,” she says.

The employee journey will be one of the topics of his talk at the INTRA-LOG Forum, in which Bello will address how automation has transformed the company's internal logistics management, especially with regard to the handling of heavy loads – reducing manual efforts and increasing safety and efficiency.

Gizelle Ferreira de Queiroz, responsible for the HR and Supply Chain sector at the Carrefour Group and also a speaker at the event, reinforces that the human factor continues to be crucial for companies in a context of technological advancement.

“The world changes all the time and technology is not static. When people management is based on a culture that focuses on investing, training and developing professionals, it creates an organizational environment of greater engagement and, as a result, greater productivity,” he emphasizes.

St. Marche Supply Chain Director Eliane Souza says that companies and professionals must adopt the concept of “lifelong learning” to continually develop. Creating a corporate culture that values innovation and flexibility is essential to integrate new technologies efficiently and effectively.”

She, who will address the evolution of the “End-to-End Supply Chain” in retail and the importance of new technologies and automation in her lecture, believes in a rapid evolution of automation in the intralogistics sector.

“Based on what I have observed in the market, the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning will become essential to optimize processes and predict demands with greater precision,” he says. Souza also mentions the integration of autonomous systems, which will become increasingly common in distribution centers and warehouses, as well as real-time monitoring and big data analysis for more informed decision-making.

Daniela Beltrame, Director of Logistics Limeira & Supply Chain – South America at ZF, corroborates this assessment. “Connectivity and visibility of the E2E (End to End) logistics chain will be the future. We will be much more predictive and analytical with this large mass of data that intelligent automation provides us”, says the speaker at the INTRA-LOG Forum, whose registrations are now open. on here.

Innovation Hub and Tech Arena

However, debates on innovations in the sector will go beyond the Forum stage during the event. At the INTRA-LOG Expo Innovation Hub, visitors will have access to free lectures, with the latest news and launches from exhibitors at the fair.

Companies such as Águia Sistemas, Softrack, Retrak, Isma, YOD7, Ulma Handling Systems, Belmer, among others, have already confirmed their exclusive presentations in this space.

In addition, visitors will also be able to participate in the Tech Arena, a space to test products and equipment, experiencing first-hand the latest innovations in cargo handling and automation and learning directly from experts how to apply innovative technologies to improve their operations and logistics processes.
