Artificial Intelligence, 5G, 6G, Open Gateway, future of agriculture and regulation in the telecommunications sector are among the highlighted topics

Under the central theme “Brand New World on the Edge – Connectivity and new people-machine relationships”, The futurecom, the largest connectivity, innovation and technology event in Latin America, promises to delve deeper into related subjects that will bring even more transparency and connection to understanding the technological news in the connected world. In October 8th to 10th, São Paulo Expo, in São Paulo, it will be the stage for countless debates on Artificial Intelligence, 5G, 6G, robotics, the future of the agro segment, regulation in the telecommunications sector, among other relevant topics.
This year's edition of Futurecom has already confirmed the presence of renowned personalities and speakers. At the October 8th, from 9:30 am, in plenary 1, the panels “Exploring Digital Frontiers: Anatel’s role in an interconnected and intelligent world” and “Unlocking the Future with Open Gateway” will feature the participation of Carlos Baigorri, president of the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel).
That same day, at 9:30 am, in Auditorium 1, Anderson Rocha, hull-professor and Research at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) will be one of the panel debaters “Future Health and the Reinvention of Care: connectivity, gen AI and robotics under debate”. In Auditorium 2, on the 8th, at 9:30 am, the “Advancement of 5G in Latin America” will feature debaters such as Rodrigo Robles, theProgram Officer the International Telecommunications Union (ITU-UN); and Jose Otero, vice president of Latin America & Caribbean at 5G Americas.
The panel “Sharing of Poles: finally, have we reached a point of agreement?” will be held on the 8th, in Auditorium 2, at 10:30 am, with the participation of Ivan Ianelli, president of the Brazilian Association of Telecommunications and IT Solutions Companies (Abeprest); and Ricardo Brandão, executive director of Regulation at the Brazilian Association of Electricity Distributors (Abradee).
At 4:40 pm, also in Auditorium 1, the theme “Future Agro: innovation available to the countryside” it will be debated by a strong team: Paola Campiello, president of Conectar Agro; Fernando Degobbi, CEO of CooperCitrus; Ana Margarida Castro Euler, executive director of Business at Embrapa; and Alexandre Dal Forno, director of IoT & 5G at TIM Brasil.
At the October 9th, at 11am, Monica Ingala, leader of the ABOTT'S Gaming Council; and professor-doctor Wagner Sanchez, pro-rector of FIAP, debate “Game on! Gamers and 5G”, in Auditorium 2. At 11:40 am, in the Plenary, it will be the panel's turn “Applying AI to the Telecommunications Industry”, with Sandro Tavares, Global Director, Telecom Marketing at Dell Technologies. To the midday, Nicholas Galano, director Starlink Sales and heading Latin American & Commercial Aviation Sales (SpaceX), is confirmed for the debate on the topic “Satellites: overview of the national and international market”, beside Mauro Wajnberg, president of the Brazilian Association of Satellite Telecommunications Companies (Abrasat); and Fabio Alencar, president of the National Union of Satellite Telecommunications Companies (Sindisat).
. To the 3:15 p.m., the theme “Semiconductor Policy: promoting new industrialization” will be moderated by Israel Guratti, member of the Brazilian Association of the Electrical and Electronic Industry (Abinee).
The panel “The Age of Intelligence: AI within organizations and in (almost everywhere)”, on the 9th, plenary, at 4:45 p.m., welcomes debaters Tomás Balistiero, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Citrosuco; Cristina Cestari, CIO at Volkswagen; and Chris Penrose, Global Head Business Development – Telco at Nvidia.
Artur Coimbra, advisor to Anatel, is confirmed as a debater on the panel “Sharing Infrastructure Investments between Big Techs and Operators: have we reached a consensus?”, which will be held in October 10th, at 10am, in the Plenary. And the 11:45 am, Alexandre Freire, also an Anatel advisor, takes the stage for the broad debate on “AI regulation and the interactions between people and machines”.
“Te(ch)co Movement: expanding or blurring the boundaries between telecom and technology”, on the 10th, at 2pm, in the Plenary, the debaters will include Leon Taiman, Global Practice Lead, Telecom & Edge at Dell Technologies.
At 4pm, the theme “6G: what to expect from the sixth generation of connectivity and new verticals to be embarked on” will also feature the presence of Rodrigo Robles, theProgram Officer of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU-UN).
Futurecom Congress
In this edition, the Futurecom Congress will have three tracks of content and will address new verticals such as mining and utilities, which will join the agro, retail, health, logistics, industry and government sectors to present trends, innovations and solutions on the impact of new human versus machine relationships.
