The São Paulo Information Center (CISP), specialized in data processing for credit analysis, reduces response time to analyzes from 24 hours to less than 1 minute.

The company has access to more information available to support its customers and greater flexibility in processing its operations with IBM Power Systems Virtual Server and IBM Cloud, supported with high security and compliance standards

The São Paulo Information Center (CISP), specialized in data processing for credit analysis, migrated its proprietary credit analysis applications to IBM Cloud on IBM Power and IBM Power Systems Virtual Server and achieved significant performance improvements, with the support of a hybrid cloud environment. The São Paulo association – which serves around 200 companies from different economic segments responsible for around 8% of Brazilian GDP – reduced the response time to queries from 24 hours to less than 1 minute1, helping to enable companies in Brazil to drive transformation faster. In addition, there was a considerable reduction in direct electricity costs, with savings reaching more than R$ 100 thousand per year2.

The company, which provides not only data but also credit analysis solutions, saw IBM technology as a way to offer safer, more accurate and more agile services to its associates, while also meeting local compliance requirements. These components were fundamental in allowing its members to make even more accurate credit decisions.

The work was carried out with the support of technology solutions integrator Intercompany, IBM's Business Partner. With the implementation of IBM Power, CISP achieved superior performance supported by an architecture with the lowest possible latency, allowing the association to focus on its core business and further diversify the product offering to the market.

To meet critical workloads in an environment multicloud that favors intense data access and prioritizes end-to-end security, the solution includes IBM Power Systems Virtual Server, designed to support critical and robust applications with large volumes of data. Now, with IBM Power Systems Virtual Server, the organization has an environment with high levels of availability, performance and security, in addition to facilitating system integration. In this way, CISP's new IBM Cloud environment protects stored data and allows for a reduction in costs related to energy consumption, maintenance and management teams and even the physical space used.

Currently, companies associated with CISP have access to a database that brings together information from more than 1.4 million points of sale. In this context, João Marcelo Cattaldo Amorim, Intelligence and Technology manager at the Information Center, highlights the importance of this migration. “The bottlenecks were visible and growing in the already overloaded architecture on-premise. It was time to adopt more modern resources that provided us with scalability and increased agility in accessing information. Between 2019 and 2023, we observed a growth of 400% in queries to our data, thanks to the excellent performance of solutions available via the cloud. Another relevant point was the change in response time to analyses, which went from 24 hours to less than 1 minute.”

According to Gustavo Martins, account manager at Intercompany, by migrating to the IBM Cloud, in an environment combined with the IBM Power System Virtual Server infrastructure, CISP achieved significant gains in terms of security, reliability and performance. “These benefits help to enhance the association’s business, allowing the expansion of the multicloud scenario and strengthening the protection of the technology infrastructure, which guarantees more agility and security for members – and, consequently, increases satisfaction and loyalty rates ”. In this way, CISP's IT team began to focus increasingly on developing products to boost members' businesses.

In the analysis of Patrícia Miranda, specialist in digital sales of public cloud at IBM, CISP improves services to provide quality information and training, in the shortest possible time and contributes to the constant promotion of the development of various economic activities in the country“The journey to the cloud with the support of IBM paved the way for the arrival of the culture data driven at CISP, which will allow data to be transformed into new products and high-quality analytical solutions so that information is increasingly at the center of decisions, following current trends that have become mandatory in the market.”

The expectation for the near future is that CISP will launch indexes based on predictive analysis to help members evaluate the possibility of granting credit or not based on the analysis of past data. The idea is to allow these queries to be based on a default rate that presents future projections. After all, depending on the client's sector of activity, there are other important factors that need to be analyzed, in addition to the financial health of a given establishment, such as seasonality caused by climatic and behavioral issues, for example – data that can be easily estimated to support customer decision-making.
