With accelerated growth, technology companies invest in strengthening their organizational culture by implementing methods to achieve greater diversity and inclusion.
Historically, the IT sector is more populated by men. According to the Cargos Tech and Digital 2023 survey conducted by Mercer, this disparity is on a basis of 70% and 30%. Skyone, a leader in providing technological products to simplify routine and enhance business productivity through a single platform, currently has 7 open vacancies, in administrative areas, IT, people management and development and has an affirmative hiring policy: at all stages of the selection process, there must be a female candidate. Otherwise, the process will not continue.
Currently on the market, according to the General Register of Employed and Unemployed Persons (Caged), the female presence in the technology area has grown by 60% in the last seven years. In the management area, according to Forbes, the participation of women in executive positions has grown from 17% to 28% since 2015. Still, there is a long journey to be taken to achieve gender equality in the job market, including in relation to career plans and remuneration.
Skyone, which currently has 500 employees and should reach more than 580 in 2024, is also launching its first diversity committee in order to boost the careers of these women in the company and continue this commitment to change. The committee's mission in the first half of the year is to discuss inclusive people policies, define monitoring metrics and clear and transparent communication of the process. Having these definitions, from the second semester onwards the committee starts to carry out actions with the aim of creating an environment where everyone, regardless of gender, feels valued and has equal opportunities.
“We are at a crucial moment of evolution at Skyone, where we are revisiting and strengthening our organizational culture. Previously, we had several initiatives in favor of diversity and inclusion, however, now, we realize the importance of structuring and focusing these efforts in a more organized way, as we believe that these elements make the company's environment more complete, bringing a variety of thoughts, experiences and perspectives, expanding our ability to develop more creative and innovative solutions.”, highlights Ricardo Brandão, CEO of Skyone.
