Digital channel that offers products from national, international and exclusive brands, has 93% performance after launch

André Nunes – Head of Product at Iguatemi 365
O Iguatemi 365, a platform created to provide a multichannel experience, taking advantage of the structure of shopping mall stores, integrating stocks and respecting tenant pricing, was born in 2019 under the e-commerce model, evolving into a marketplace in 2020. In 2022, after the business matured and faced with a change in strategy and business modeling, the company searched the market for a more modern solution focused on performance, opting for the FastStore solution from VTEX, implemented by Quality Digital, the main Brazilian e-commerce platform. “The evolution of the e-commerce business to a marketplace required a lot of customization, so we decided to migrate to this technology, which presented solutions to issues that directly impact the end customer, such as performance, scalability and integration. After the migration, we achieved a performance score of 93%”, explains André Nunes, Head of Product at Iguatemi 365.
The executive highlights that the change boosted performance, that is, loading time and maintenance, resulting in a better purchasing experience for the end user while browsing the marketplace.
FastStore, a high-performance solution for store construction
THE FastStore, a VTEX solution, implemented by Quality Digital, consists of a toolkit fullstack, encompassing a set of open source libraries, aimed at building high-performance stores. Enables developers to create comprehensive and unique e-commerce solutions, supporting platform integrations headless - on what front end and backend are decoupled – in addition to providing a lot of freedom in customization. The solution has a Jamstack architecture, developed with the aim of creating better functioning, faster and more secure websites and applications, easy to scale and capable of offering a better development experience. “With FastStore and our knowledge of this technology, we developed a scalable, flexible architecture that would benefit the business in the long term”, says Fábio Feichtinger, CTO of Digital Quality, a company that provided consultancy and carried out the migration of the Iguatemi 365 marketplace.
The Iguatemi 365 marketplace shopping experience was created to meet the needs of the shopping mall's stores, therefore, the complete operation aims to serve the end consumer right up to the store owners themselves. In other words, from the moment of purchase, going through all the cart confirmation procedures, payment gateway, notification of the seller (store responsible for delivering the order), separation and shipping of products to the customer's home, today all stages are included in the solution.
Cooperative migration with a focus on customer satisfaction
The project had the support of the VTEX team, Quality Digital and over 100 professionals from the Iguatemi 365 team, who were committed to providing the time-to-market as quickly as possible, to expand the user experience in the purchasing journey and recover revenue. “When I look at the strictly product metrics, they are all confirmed: the loading time within the market benchmark, which generates a positive experience and reduces the number of customers who access e-commerce and end up leaving without doing any type of navigation and the NPS (Net Promoter Score), which measures the degree of consumer satisfaction with your brand. Since the platform migration, today, historically, the navigation NPS of our products is at an all-time high. Our customers have reported a positive experience, and we have also started to see significant changes in relation to conversion and average ticket, due to the ease of finding the product, explains Nunes.
To overcome the challenges of the project, such as accepting suggestions and questions linked to business rules, it was necessary to break some paradigms, and at that moment the confidence in the solution and in the Quality Digital team weighed in on Iguatemi 365. “We had long conversations at the time of rethinking the rules for the business, but both senior executives and Quality Digital's performance architects discussed with me to understand the functionalities and the most assertive paths, in addition to the benchmark of other clients they had already served, allowing us to react in time right and launch the marketplace in just five months”, highlights the executive.
Fast time to market
Iguatemi 365 set a goal of five months at the beginning of the project. “We did the beta in 4 months and the go live in 5 months, and the turnaround happened without a hitch. As we didn’t set out to reinvent the wheel, I think it was this pragmatism that helped us do it within that time frame”, adds Nunes.
Now with the platform fully operational, Nunes highlights that he is already working on unfolding product metrics into business metrics. “The message today for our team is the following: “We want to do the basics well! Train our entire team to use the VTEX platform more and more efficiently every day, extracting all its potential”, concludes the executive.
