Sebrae Startups, a platform for initiatives aimed at startups from the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) jointly announced the initiative to train 25 thousand professionals from the country's startup ecosystem free of charge. develop technical knowledge, promote access to professional training in technology and expand future possibilities and technologies for startups from different sectors, in addition to supporting the growth journey of entrepreneurs who want to start in the sector. Registration for the training can be done starting today at AWS and Sebrae Startups portal.
The opening of registrations was announced during the Startup Summit, an event held by Sebrae Startups in Florianópolis (SC), and was followed by in-person training for 400 startups present at the event, which were previously selected in the 1K+ Program, which is connecting these companies with corporates, venture capital managers and international missions.
The training will have AWS content that will also be offered online: Scale your startup with modern applications and Generative artificial intelligence and machine learning for startups. According to data from Brasscom, the Association of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Digital Technologies Companies, there will be a deficit of 530 thousand IT professionals in Brazil by 2025.

Bruno Quick, technical director of Sebrae Nacional, highlights that the collaboration is part of an ambitious goal of Sebrae Startups, which aims to impact around 10 thousand startups by the end of 2023 through the platform. “The entity is already recognized for its reach that allows startups to network, participate in events and various training programs that help in their business journeys. We believe that this collaboration with AWS is essential for us to continue fostering the evolution of innovative and disruptive businesses, especially as it is accessible and takes place at an event already consolidated in the startup ecosystem.”
Announcing the initiative during the Startup Summit was also a victory for an ecosystem that is growing more and more, according to Luc Pinheiro, technical director at Sebrae in Santa Catarina. “Today, the technology and innovation sector exceeds R$22 billion in revenue in the State. The union between Sebrae and AWS, announced at the Startup Summit, is the result of the companies' efforts to bring national and international themes and trends that are relevant to entrepreneurs who want to invest in technology and innovation”, he states.
The collaboration between AWS and Sebrae Startups aims to develop technical knowledge for Brazilian startup professionals from different segments, offering, in addition to training, mentoring sessions with experts. The project, which has several stages until December 2024, begins in September this year with an information session and classes are scheduled to begin in October. The course covers topics from introductory cloud computing concepts to modules that address the benefits of using the cloud, security and service models. It is recommended for all employees of startups and entrepreneurs interested in entering the sector.
Participants will also have access to the program AWS Activate, with free personalized guidance, tools, resources, pre-built infrastructure templates, and expert support. Between paid and free courses, AWS has trained more than 500 thousand people in Brazil and 1.2 million people in Latin America since 2017.
