With the “OpenCare 5G” case, InovaHC wins the Private Network – Health category
The OpenCare 5G project, an initiative by the Technological Innovation Center of Hospital das Clínicas (InovaHC) for the use of a private network with Open RAN architecture, was the winner in the Private Network category – Smart City/Health/Education/Transport of the ABDI ANATEL Network Award Private.
This project is part of the partnership signed in 2021 between InovaHC, Escola Politécnica da USP (POLI-USP), Deloitte, ABDI, Siemens Healthineers, Itaú, Telecom Infra Project (TIP), NEC, Positivo Servers & Solutions, which aims to enable remote ultrasound exams in underserved communities, especially indigenous ones, connecting radiologists in large centers with local health professionals and patients through 5G technology.
“It is an honor to receive such recognition! When we thought of OpenCare 5G, our objective was to democratize medicine and overcome obstacles such as the lack of structure and equipment, so receiving the ABDI ANATEL Award shows that we are on the right path, achieving our goals.” – declares Giovanni Cerri, president of the InovaHC Board.
This is the first Brazilian 5G network in healthcare developed with the Open RAN concept (Open Radio Access Networks), which, by generating an open ecosystem of providers, stimulates innovation and accelerates development and availability to the Marketplace.
